Who am I? Well, I guess you can call me a seasoned advertising wordsmith on a perpetual mission to transform mundane messages into memorable masterpieces. With more than 25 years of offering big ideas and a creative vision in both the agency and corporate domain, I thrive on weaving compelling narratives that captivate and elicit genuine engagement.
The samples curated in this portfolio demonstrate not only a passion for what I do, but also serve as a testament to my respect for the ideas conveyed and the many topics I write about. Sometimes it’s print and web advertising that celebrate iconic Disney films, or print booklets paying tribute to historical events and sports legacies. Other times there are “passion projects” writing ad campaigns celebrating the American muscle car era. As you can see, I’m a man of many interests, which is apparent in everything I write. No matter the subject, my goal is to craft words that will resonate with the client and leave an indelible mark.
This portfolio offers just a selection of advertising pieces I’ve written over the years. If you would like to see more of my advertising writing samples, please reach out. I’d love to hear from you and share more!

The legendary 1965 Aston Martin DB5 is perhaps most famous for its appearance in such classic James Bond films like Goldfinger, Thunderball and Skyfall. This 2023 brochure markets the 1:18-scale diecast replica of 007’s ride of choice, detailing the rich history and the timeless allure of this sophisticated symbol of Hollywood style and elegance.
There is no prize greater for vintage car enthusiasts than a classic 1968 Shelby GT500. While its rarity and historical significance contribute to its enduring popularity in the vintage pony car market, it was all about power for collectors - about 380 horses-worth to be precise. To those who could picture themselves behind the wheel of this legendary Shelby ride, tearing up the open road and unleashing every bit of that 7.0-liter V8 power - it’s YOU I had in mind when writing this 2023 brochure.
When Bradford’s Canadian division approached me to write this seven-page booklet telling the complete history of the NHL Original Six teams, I jumped at the opportunity. And, being a Chicago Blackhawks fan made it a no-brainer decision. Accompanying shipments from an expansive lineup of Bradford’s “Original Six” products, this booklet had to tell a big story in a condensed format. Challenge accepted! It was hard work - extensive research and writing - that paid off well - the “Original Six” products were a hit!
Representing the pinnacle of American luxury automobiles in the early 1930s, the Packard V12 Victoria was a design high point for its time. One of the most beautifully designed and exquisitely proportioned cars of its era, I wrote the copy for this 2023 brochure to appeal to both Packard enthusiasts and diecast collectors alike. As a collector of diecast cars myself, I understand the allure of these models and knew exactly how to appeal to my target audience.
Picture this! It’s the heart of summer in 1958 and you’re cruising down one of America’s newly-created interstates on a weekend road trip to Anywhere U.S.A. With the top down, the warm sun on your face, Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry rockin’ the AM radio waves, and a 332 Interceptor V8 under the hood, life is perfect as you turn heads in your brand new Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner convertible. Though a bygone era long before my time, 50s nostalgia and open-air freedom was at the heart of my copy in this brochure.
Crafting copy for this 2019 booklet that has since accompanied every Bradford Exchange product licensed by the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds was a dream. Researching and writing this booklet, I learned a lot about the history of these aerial daredevils. That and the legacy of excellence, devotion and teamwork that is demonstrated in every thrilling moment of their precision flying prowess.
Commemorating the soldiers of the Canadian Corps who fought with courage and gallantry on the bloody Northern France battlefields of Vimy Ridge in April 1917, this brochure Proof Coin collection honors their sacrifice and glorious victory. With a passion for military history, I love researching and writing about stories of heroism like this and the sense of national pride and identity it inspires to this day throughout Canada.
Throughout the struggle against racial segregation and the fight for civil rights in America, champions of progress and equality like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Rosa Parks, Dr. Maya Angelou, Medgar Evers and many others made history. Standing tall against the oppressive forces of racial segregation, they each left an enduring legacy of courage and resilience. Writing the ad campaign for this inspiring collection was a great honor!
Honoring J. Rosamond Johnson’s inspiring 1905 poem, later set to music by his brother John Rosamond Johnson, the hymn "Lift Every Voice and Sing" celebrates African American identity and inspired unity throughout the Civil Rights movement. My sole focus on the writing of this ad was the impact "Lift Every Voice and Sing" extends beyond its role as a hymn, making it a lasting and influential part of American cultural history.
Writing a vast selection of advertising for Bradford’s many Disney-licensed products was always an opportunity I welcomed. Everything from Mickey Mouse and Cinderella to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas was a magical ride back to my childhood. Drawing from my love of Disney’s iconic films allowed me to approach these product ads through the eyes of a child, inspiring me to write copy that would give the client a similar sense of enchantment and nostalgia.
As a lifelong world traveler, few countries fancy my imagination more than Ireland. With its breathtaking landscapes, lush rolling emerald hills and rich tapestry of one scenic and majestic wonder after another, it was my own travel experiences to Ireland that inspired my copy throughout this brochure. This product was a pretty big seller, too. A lot went into making that success happen - a superb product, terrific ad design and descriptive copy that transported the client to the vast beauty of the Emerald Isle.
As someone who lived and breathed Star Wars most of my life, the “fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy” - the Millennium Falcon - holds a special place in my heart and imagination. Who hasn’t pretended to sit in Han Solo’s pilot seat weaving through asteroid belts, blasting out of Mos Eisley docking bays and jumping across the Outer Rim territories at light speed? And that’s exactly what my frame of mind was when I wrote the advertising for this unique Hawthorne Village wall sculpture.
When it comes to bringing the timeless theme of good versus evil to the silver screen, no other studio compares to Disney. Dark and magical antagonists like Snow White’s Evil Queen and Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent add plenty of sinister and spellbinding conflict to these animated film classics. Writing about the magical prowess of these wicked spellcasters in the advertising for Hawthorne Village’s Disney Villains Legends Collection was pure joy!
Celebrating “90 Years of Coca-Cola Santa,” this brochure tells the story of Haddon Sundblom’s iconic depictions of Santa Claus in Coca-Cola's Christmas advertising throughout the 1930s. Featured prominently throughout the brochure and copy, the warm and jovial Santa Claus enjoys a Coca-Cola in his North Pole workshop during the holiday season. Nearly a century later, Coke’s holiday season campaign continues to be celebrated as an integral part of Christmas popular culture.
Within every one of Thomas Kinkade’s renowned works of art, the Painter of Light was able to create a personal and sentimental connection with his audience. Idyllic and picturesque, the homespun charm of rustic small-town life was at the forefront in each of his paintings. In every soft and glowing scene, there existed a sense of home and belonging. And it was this same type of charming simplicity I tried to instill throughout the advertising for this bestselling Thomas Kinkade Lamplight Village.
This short animated video was produced for Megadyne Americas' website and run on continuous loops in the booth during industry trade shows worldwide. I wrote this video’s script in 2017 as a way to instill some fun and humor into the overly-technical details of power transmission belt engineering. I feel the most effective way to sell someone a product is to teach them something about it at the same time.
Back in 2010 on a road trip through Europe and the UK, I sparked a love for photography I never knew I had. Since then, my trusty Canon 5D Mark IV accompanies me on every adventure. In 2016, I launched Christopher Sutter Photography, specializing in portrait, lifestyle, street/urban, travel, landscape and product photography. Here’s a sample of my work with a link to my photography site down below.
